Classes & Progression
Pick a class that fits your style, then grow it into an endgame identity through gear, tiers, and smart build choices.
In NexusServer, your class matters because it defines:
- how you **deal damage** (burst vs steady DPS)
- how you **survive** (tanking, kiting, shields, healing)
- what you **bring to a party** (frontline, support, picks, control)
- what you should **farm for** (specific weapon types, gear slots, imbuements)
Base Vocations (Your Starting Classes)
Arcanist (Caster – Burst / AoE)
**Base overview:** Fast-clearing spellcaster that rewards positioning and timing.
**Endgame overview:** Becomes a true nuker with powerful burst windows and strong control pressure in fights.
**Playstyle:** Keep distance, manage mana, punish grouped enemies.
Spiritweaver (Caster – Sustain / Support)
**Base overview:** Safer progression with sustain and utility.
**Endgame overview:** Group anchor that keeps teams alive and enables long hunts and confident pushes.
**Playstyle:** Stabilize fights and keep everyone running.
Marksman (Ranged – DPS / Kiting)
**Base overview:** Reliable ranged damage with strong kiting and clean single-target focus.
**Endgame overview:** High-uptime damage dealer that shines with good gear and smart positioning.
**Playstyle:** Maintain distance, keep pressure, finish targets.
Vanguard (Melee – Tank / Frontline)
**Base overview:** Durable frontline that controls pulls and thrives in tight spaces.
**Endgame overview:** The wall that holds chokepoints and keeps hunts stable while your team deals damage.
**Playstyle:** Hold the line, protect allies, control positions.
Shadowblade (Melee – Assassin / Mobility)
**Base overview:** High-mobility burst class that rewards smart engages and quick exits.
**Endgame overview:** Backline threat that forces reactions and punishes mispositioning.
**Playstyle:** Choose fights, burst, reset, repeat.
Spellblade (Hybrid – Duelist / Skirmish)
**Base overview:** Flexible hybrid that mixes melee pressure with spell-enhanced damage and utility.
**Endgame overview:** Strong in small-scale fights, hard to read, and great at punishing mistakes.
**Playstyle:** Adapt to matchups and build around synergy.
Promotions (Your Endgame Paths)
Later, your base vocation evolves into an elite path:
- **Arcanist → Archmage**
- **Spiritweaver → Lifebinder**
- **Marksman → Sharpshooter**
- **Vanguard → Warlord**
- **Shadowblade → Nightstalker**
- **Spellblade → Spellwarden**
Promotions are designed to feel like a real identity upgrade: better scaling, clearer strengths, and stronger specialization.
How to Build a Strong Character (Practical)
1) Build around your “win condition”
- **Burst** wins by deleting targets during windows.
- **Sustain** wins by staying alive and keeping uptime.
- **Control** wins by forcing bad positioning and denying escapes.
2) Make two sets instead of one
Most endgame players run:
- a **farm set** (speed + sustain)
- a **fight set** (damage + defenses + matchup tools)
3) Tiers + imbuements are your “ARPG layer”
Your power comes from the combo of:
- a strong **item base**
- a good **tier**
- the right **imbuements**
Party Roles (Quick Guide)
- **Frontline:** Vanguard/Warlord holds rooms and bosses.
- **Damage:** Marksman/Sharpshooter and Arcanist/Archmage delete targets.
- **Support:** Spiritweaver/Lifebinder stabilizes hunts and saves wipes.
- **Pick/Disruption:** Shadowblade/Nightstalker punishes mistakes and isolates targets.
- **Flexible glue:** Spellblade/Spellwarden fills gaps and counters.
Tip: Don’t Copy Builds Blindly
Two players can be the same class and still play totally differently. The best build is the one that matches:
- your hunt style (safe vs risky)
- your PvP comfort (burst vs control)
- the content you actually run (solo/duo/team)
